>Blessing through Pain

Pain, sorrow, tears, sickness, disappointment, trials:

times like these can be the hardest for us to bear.

It was our sins that nailed Jesus to the cross, and it is our sins that give us sorrow, and our sins can cause sorrow in others.

Yet, even through our sin God’s mercy shines. The sacrifice offered on Calvary, is there for us.

It’s there to show us hope.

Pain. Sorrow. Separation. Strife. Tears. Agony.

Yet, through the darkest time, light still shone.

Forgiveness. Surrender. Obedience. Joy.

Calvary shines through the ages.

When the outlook was bleakest was when God’s mercy was revealed.

Do blessings only come when times are good.

Can we only receive His peace when we’re on the mountaintop.

What if blessings come from raindrops?

What if healing comes through tears?

What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know God’s near?

When things look the bleakest

When blessings are hard to find

When God’s refining fire is molding us

Look for the blessings….

…they’re there.

The trials of life are God’s workmen, to remove the impurities and roughness from our character. Their hewing, squaring, and chiseling, their burnishing and polishing, is a painful process; it is hard to be pressed down to the grinding wheel. But the stone is brought forth prepared to fill its place in the heavenly temple. Upon no useless material does the Master bestow such careful, thorough work. Only His precious stones are polished after the similitude of a palace. {ST, February 5, 1902 par. 6}
