Wonder

I stand in wonder….

God never ceases to amaze me.

The depths of His love.

The workings of His grace.

The extent of His forgiveness.

The miracle-working power of His truth.

Love Himself came down…

From heaven to earth.

From the richest to the poorest.

From being a King to being a servant.

Humiliated. Reproached. Despised. Hated.

The most awful death on a wooden cross.

A broken heart.

Christ did all this, suffered all this, simply so that I (and you) could live with Him eternally.

We have despised, rejected, shamed Him, we have humiliated Him.

We who bear His name have denied knowing Him.

And yet, He still loves us.

He still stands ready to forgive, to restore, to renew…He calls us His children.

How can we reject such love?

My faithful Father, enduring Friend
Your tender mercy’s like a river with no end
It overwhelms me, covers my sin
Each time I come into Your presence
I stand in wonder once again

Your grace still amazes me
Your love is still a mystery
Each day I fall on my knees
Your grace still amazes me
Because Your grace still amazes me

Oh, patient Saviour, You make me whole
You are the Author and the Healer of my soul
What can I give You, Lord, what can I say
I know there’s no way to repay You
Only to offer You my praise

Your grace still amazes me
Your love is still a mystery
Each day I fall on my knees
Your grace still amazes me
Because Your grace still amazes me
