“Put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well;”
No halfway putting away here.
Nothing is ever halfway with God.
Put away. Cease.
Gone, finished, banished.
And when it’s gone, when the evil is complately banished, learn to do well.
The evil that we put away is not just to leave a empty hole.
Yes, it leaves an empty space.
But that space is to be filled with doing well, with service for others.
And service is completely satisfying.
